Jason is a nationally recognized leader in the Indoor Air Quality (IAQ), Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ), and Industrial Hygiene (IH) industries. Jason's 30+ year career in occupational and environmental safety and health has included (but is not limited to) the following services:    

  • A board member and peer-reviewer for the American Council for Accredited Certification (ACAC)
  • Performs hazard and risk assessments in commercial, residential, governmental, and institutional facilities
  • Serves as a subject matter expert and peer-reviewer for the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning, and Restoration Certification (IICRC)

(e.g., the S520, Standard for Professional Mold Remediation, and S530, Standard for Indoor Environmental Assessment for Suspected Mold Contaminated Structures)

  • Provides consultation to corporate restoration companies on issues of national accounts and standard compliance
  • Serves federal agencies in finding environmental stressors associated with emergency housing and remediation processes

(e.g., finding hazards in temporary housing after Hurricane Katrina & writing assessment protocols for the federal government)

  • Provides expert consultation and testimony

(including work on a high profile, property-damage, legal case)

  • Trains restoration and remediation companies in a number of subjects

(e.g., mold remediation techniques, business organization, fire/smoke damage restoration hazards, etc.)

Jason's credentials include:    

  • Council-certified Indoor Environmental Consultant, CIEC

An accredited certification for professionals with verified knowledge of disciplines related to indoor air quality, including but not limited to Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems, building science, mold and microbial issues, industrial hygiene, lead-based paint and asbestos.

  • Council-certified Indoor Environmental Supervisor, CIES

An accredited certification for professionals with verified knowledge of disciplines related to mold remediation, asbestos removal or lead paint abatement. Professionals with this certification have dealt with hazardous materials and chemicals.

  • Council-certified Microbial Remediation Supervisor, CMRS

An accredited certification for professionals with verified knowledge of disciplines related to the design and implementation of mold remediation plans, including but not limited to containments, control pressure relationships, cleaning products and their use in safely cleaning environments exposed to mold, safely removing and disposing of mold contaminated building materials, and understanding applicable regulations and standards.

  • Council-certified Emergency Operations Professional, CEOP

An accredited certification for professionals with verified knowledge of disciplines related to the coordination and management of a company’s response to a natural or man-made disaster if government first responders cannot arrive immediately. They develop and maintain procedures and chains of command that enable the company to maintain order in the event of an emergency and provide first responders with an accurate assessment of the situation when they arrive.

  • Two vocational certificates in subrogation

Jason's college education included:    

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Safety and Health

A comprehensive study of occupational safety and health that included emergency response to chemical spills, explosions and fires, toxicology, accident investigations, safety and health standards and guidelines, industrial hygiene practices, safety and health law, building a safety-first business culture, environmental science, and other pertinent subjects.

  • Industrial Hygiene Management Certificate

A comprehensive program that covered industrial hygiene, toxicology, occupational safety and health standards, airborne hazards, sampling for airborne contaminants, ergonomics, temperature extremes, the selection and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and other pertinent subjects. 

  • Certificate of Environmental Management

A comprehensive program that covered environmental science, environmental law, environmental politics, Earth science, sampling for airborne contaminants, air pollution science, and other pertinent subjects.
