Meet Our Leadership:
Gulf Coast Center for Indoor Air Quality Services is a family owned business, managed by Cynthia (Cyndie) and Jason Yost.
Science & Safety Division:
Jason is a nationally recognized leader in the Indoor Air Quality (IAQ), Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ), and Industrial Hygiene (IH) industries. Jason's 30+ year career in occupational and environmental safety and health has included (but is not limited to) the following services:
(e.g., the S520, Standard for Professional Mold Remediation, and S530, Standard for Indoor Environmental Assessment for Suspected Mold Contaminated Structures)
(e.g., finding hazards in temporary housing after Hurricane Katrina & writing assessment protocols for the federal government)
(including work on a high profile, property-damage, legal case)
(e.g., mold remediation techniques, business organization, fire/smoke damage restoration hazards, etc.)
Jason's credentials include:
An accredited certification for professionals with verified knowledge of disciplines related to indoor air quality, including but not limited to Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems, building science, mold and microbial issues, industrial hygiene, lead-based paint and asbestos.
An accredited certification for professionals with verified knowledge of disciplines related to mold remediation, asbestos removal or lead paint abatement. Professionals with this certification have dealt with hazardous materials and chemicals.
An accredited certification for professionals with verified knowledge of disciplines related to the design and implementation of mold remediation plans, including but not limited to containments, control pressure relationships, cleaning products and their use in safely cleaning environments exposed to mold, safely removing and disposing of mold contaminated building materials, and understanding applicable regulations and standards.
An accredited certification for professionals with verified knowledge of disciplines related to the coordination and management of a company’s response to a natural or man-made disaster if government first responders cannot arrive immediately. They develop and maintain procedures and chains of command that enable the company to maintain order in the event of an emergency and provide first responders with an accurate assessment of the situation when they arrive.
Jason's college education included:
A comprehensive study of occupational safety and health that included emergency response to chemical spills, explosions and fires, toxicology, accident investigations, safety and health standards and guidelines, industrial hygiene practices, safety and health law, building a safety-first business culture, environmental science, and other pertinent subjects.
A comprehensive program that covered industrial hygiene, toxicology, occupational safety and health standards, airborne hazards, sampling for airborne contaminants, ergonomics, temperature extremes, the selection and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and other pertinent subjects.
A comprehensive program that covered environmental science, environmental law, environmental politics, Earth science, sampling for airborne contaminants, air pollution science, and other pertinent subjects.
